The pushing exercise

Pushing

Many dogs feel uncomfortable about doing this exercise at first because it requires them to be put off-balance while eating. Over time, though, the feeling of ingesting something pleasurable and satisfying offsets the temporary loss of physical equilibrium. As a result, the dog begins to develop immense feelings of power and satisfaction while pushing. The dog’s “hunger circuits” overcome his fear. And, as a result, he's no longer thrown off-balance by other experiences that would normally cause a fearful or aggressive reaction thus fostering lasting feelings of emotional stability.
